Club trip to Smailholm

January 21, 2017

Today was one of our regular club outings. This time to Smailholm tower Near kelso.

Things were looking pretty gloomy for the last leg of the bus ride to get there due to incredibly thick fog.

Thankfully the fog began to clear as we arrived and set up, making for some great atmospheric shots. The tower was surrounded by beautiful scenery and a pleasing photograph could be taken from almost any angle.

I'm sure we will return there in the future.

We also made Holy Island the 2nd stop of the day and took full advantage of the coffee shop.

There was time to spare on the way home so we also took the opportunity to grab a few more snaps on the way home.

Of course it goes without saying we took full advantage of the chippie at Seahouses too...

Once a gain a cracking day out!

Pat Coombs had this to say of the day also:

"Fabulous club trip that saw me celebrate my birthday with a great bunch of people and in such breath taking surroundings. Although the morning temperature started of rather chilly the sun came out as we reach Holy Island where we had lunch in a little cafe. Which included a birthday cake complete with candle.Great day, Thanks to all."
