Members bike ride for charity

September 1, 2016

In July this year I put my name forward to do a sponsored bike ride from Seahouses to Newcastle in aid of bright red, this is a charity for the cancer ward 33  in the Bobby Robson part of the freeman hospital. As this was where I had my treatment for bone cancer, I asked the club members to see if they would sponsor me and the response was brilliant, so 100 riders took part in the event of all standards and ages. The amount the club raised was £450 this added to the years other events meant up to now the amount raised is a staggering £165,000 this money is already being used to good use as the isolation rooms are being refurbished to try and make the stay as comfortable as possible, so all I can say is THANK YOU .  It seems that cancer is becoming more prevalent today as we have a couple of members going through treatment so all I would like to send mine and the club,s best wishes to those members and say keep on fighting.
