News, updates, and FREE Nik Collection!!!

March 24, 2016

Just a few little bits of news and updates for you all. The Thursday coming, 31/03/16, we have a committee meeting so could all available members please be at the hall for 06:45pm.

We also have the club print knockout competition with the images supplied by Keith Saint. Remember prints to be no larger than A4 and no need to mount them. Its up to you how you edit them. Keith will judge the prints and the winner gets a mars bar.

Keith had a meeting with the town council and we will be getting our retainer payment in the new tax year. They have also decided to keep us on retainer for the next year.

Speaking of the town council, they have asked us to send 1 or 2 people over to the opening of the Ashington Community Cinema to take a couple of photos. If you are interested then please let me or Keith know asap. Details for the cinema can be found here:

They have asked for another couple of events, but there is more details to follow on these jobs in the future.

As you may know, Lynemouth Parish Council asked us to provide photographers for the opening of the mining memorial Saturday just gone (19/03/16). I went down for the morning to take some photos for them and the parish has agreed to credit the club (and myself) with any photos they use. If you wish to see the photos I captured then please follow this

For those of you with Photoshop and/or Lightroom, Google has just made Nik Collection FREE, yes, FREE. Worth and download and a try if you are interested. I have installed this on the club laptop, so tutorials could be made during the summer season. To download the software please go to the following this Link :

I will also have the software on the club laptop if you prefer to bring a USB stick in.

Remember if you wish to go to the presentation meal then your deposit and selection are due this Thursday (31/03/16).

I think that is all for now, and hope to see you all on Thursday for a fun knockout competition.
