news, updates and little more...
Firstly we had a great presentation by Anne Swearman showing her work over the years in print form. Anne displayed some excellent work and I'm sure inspired many that were there for the night.
Could all members going to the presentation meal please have the rest of the balance paid as soon as possible? Could winners from DPI/PDI and Print competitions please send a copy of the image in DPI/PDI format to Malcolm Ross and Roy Williamson so they can be displayed during the evening.
It was decided that a small amount of money from the clubs fund would be used to buy some raffle prizes for the presentation evening. If you wish to donate a prize, please bring them to the club as soon as possible.
With the AGM coming up on the 28th April, could all members please have any question/concerns/ideas passed to me via email or in writing so they can be addressed at the AGM.
We have been asked by another camera club (who found us via our website) if we would like to take part in an informal interclub competition. It was agreed on the night that we would participate in the competition. The competition will be between 3 different counties with the theme of "Why visit Northumberland/Lancashire/Lincolnshire". Each club will take photos over the summer season showing the best our county has to offer (any subject and style). After which 15 photos from as many people as possible will be sent off via email in DPI format. Each club will judge all the photos and a grand winner announced once all the scores are in from each club. I will send out another email at a later date once everything has been finalised with the organisers of the competition.
As you may have been aware the Town Council asked us to photograph the opening of the Ashington Community Cinema today (09/04/16). I got some photos for the council and the results can be found at the following link
